Anger is a normal and necessary emotion. It shows up to protect us. There was a time where anger protected humans from life-threatening danger like a ferocious animal. Nowadays, anger tries to protect humans from a perceived threat or danger. For example, it can be protecting humans from experiences that leave them feeling hurt, afraid, trapped, stressed, attacked, or offended.
