Counselling requires you to sit with discomfort, tolerate uncertainty, and express vulnerability. For many people, it can be their only opportunity to emphasize time for themselves and to experience a self-focused lens on their life.
I recognize that it takes a lot of courage to self-reflect and identify areas which you would like to improve. I consider it my ethical responsibility to create an environment where you feel you can thrive and above all, feel safe and respected. I do this by integrating several different theoretical orientations including Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioural therapy all within a trauma-informed lens, in order to best meet my clients’ unique needs and goals.
I encourage my clients to attach themselves to the process of personal growth and self-discovery rather than simply the end goal, as this creates opportunities to generate self-compassion and gratitude for your strengths and abilities. My goal is to help you shape your resilience and in still confidence that you have the capacity to meet life’s challenges without feeling overwhelmed or stuck.
My Hidden Talent/Something Unique About Me:
